Math Competitions in Japan

Japan has a strong mathematics competition tradition highlighted by the Sansu Olympics for elementary students (founded 1992 by Fields Medalist Heisuke Hironaka) and the Japanese Mathematical Olympiad. Japan consistently performs well at the IMO.
