How to Prepare

Study Tips

Study Problems from the Asian-Pacific Region

APMO problems reflect styles from strong mathematical cultures (Japan, Korea, China). Practice with APMO archives and national olympiad problems from these countries.

Strategy

Five Problems in Four Hours

APMO gives 4 hours for 5 proof problems. Aim to solve at least 2-3 completely. Start with the problem that feels most natural to your strengths.

Resources

All past APMO problems with solutions are on AoPS. MathLinks forum discussions offer multiple solution approaches and insights from experienced competitors.

Mindset

Compare Yourself Across the Asia-Pacific

APMO offers a benchmark against the strongest mathematical nations in the region. Use your results to identify which topics need more work before IMO selection.
